Dreaming.
Do you or don’t you?
Do you dream about the future or just have a fantasy(白日梦,幻想) dream after a couple of late night tacos(炸玉米饼)?
Dreams get us going. Dreams direct(管理;指挥) our lives, our focus, our direction(方向趋势).
Many of us have forgotten how to dream or haven’t taken the time to dream in years.
We get so busy that we never relax our mind and let it dream.
Dare I say day-dream?
When we were all kids, we would dream for hours.
We had all the time in the world to dream.
We had no limits. We had no fears(恐惧).
Short of the “boogie man”, we had no idea what fear was.
We could lie in the grass(我们可以躺在草地上), look at the clouds and dream and dream again. Our friends didn’t tell us our dreams were nonsense(胡说;废话) but instead dreamed big dreams at our side!
Then what happened? Parents, sport coaches(教练), teachers and sometimes our older friends started to steal pieces of(偷窃) our dreams.
We were told we would never make the big league(社团)—the pros(社会圈) because we just weren’t good enough.
We were told we could never be that famous(著名的)actor(男演员)/actress(女演员)—it would never happen.
We were too fat, too short, we couldn’t sing, we couldn’t dance.
These dream stealers started to poke holes(戳洞) in our dreams.
Then we started to doubt(怀疑) ourselves.
When things didn’t work out(计算) the way we dreamed, we put up(提供,建造) a wall between daily(日常的) life and our dreams.
Heck, maybe you even just plain(简单的) gave up but I guarantee(保证)② that you started to settle(解决,安排).
Settle for this.
Settle for that!
I guess that it’s not that bad.
I guess I can get by(通过), etc.
Words we all know. Words that start to steal our dreams.
Well it’s time for a change!
It’s time to know and believe in our hearts that dreaming is never optional(可选的)③!
It’s time to dream and then dream again!
Dreaming is never optional!
There is a famous philosopher(哲学家)—Mr. Mickey Mouse.
Mickey tells us “Believe your dreams can come true. Never stop dreaming, and remember anything, anything can happen!”
It’s time to find some quiet time and just let it all go and start to dream as kid again.
What do you really want?
Forget all about what Mom wanted for you or where you are “stuck(卡住)” today.
One hour, one day of dreaming is not enough.
It will take some time to remember just how to dream.
It took years for you to forget how to dream so give yourselves some time to remember how.
Regardless(无论), it’s time to start dreaming once again!
“Taking the risk(危险,风险) to follow our hearts gives energy(能量,精力) to our future and breathes life into our dreams.”—Debbie Ford
Once we know our dreams, goals(目标) can be established(确定的,已建立).
Goals that will constantly(不断地) take you a step closer(更进一步)—even if(虽然) a small step closer towards(迈向,对于) your dreams.
Goals are a plan to help us realize(实现,认识到) our dreams.
Goals plan the actions that must take place (发生).
Dreams and goals are the planning, the thinking, the blueprint(蓝图,设计图) of your life.
Action is the how! Action is rolling up(卷起) your sleeves(袖子) and going for it!
Accomplishing(完成,实现) your dreams require(要求):
* Solid(坚实,固体) clear goals
* Action
* Pursuit(追赶,追求)
* Persistence(坚持,毅力)
Persistence is often the key. Persistence, or as my wife calls it with me “stubbornness(倔强)”.
Call it whatever you want but it is the will to keep going, keep pushing(推进,奋斗的) over, around, or through obstacles(障碍) to get what you truly(真实的) want in life!
Real dreams are what you truly desire(欲望) deep down(心底的).
Dreams are worth pursuing.
Dreams are worth sacrifice(牺牲).
They are not—I wish!
They are not—I want!
They are a burning(燃烧的) desire to accomplish(完成) something or have something.
Your dreams will happen if you have the courage(勇气) to pursue(追赶) them!
Protect your dreams and the dreams of your love ones.
Protect them because they are one of your most valued possessions(财产).
Don’t ever let anyone steal your dreams.
We have established(确定的,已建立)that dreaming is never optional!
So what are your dreams?
It’s now your turn to dream and dream again!
“If one advances(前进,提出) confidently(自信地) in the direction of (向...方向)his dreams, and endeavors(尽力) to live the life which he has imagined(想象), he will meet with success unexpected(意外的,想象不到的) in common hours(普通的时间).”—Thoreau
“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by things you didn’t do than the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines(枷锁). Sail away 远航 from the safe harbor(海港). Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover (发现).”—Mark Twain
那么,就解开帆索吧,从安全的港湾里面开出来吧,跟着帆上的信风,去探索吧,去梦想吧,去发现吧。
To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.
大部分的人只是存在着,很少人好好的活着。如此而已。
