Microsoft OneNote is a note taking application comes with the Microsoft office bundle, I downloaded it four days ago since I feel like I desperately need a tool to help manage my schedule as well as enforcing a mission on myself because it has always been my weakness that I have little self-control.
The inspiration I got for using this app is from my past working experience at Vodafone Sydney, where my boss Rachel has a notebook that is used for recording everything we sell and jobs that need to be done. I feel like this kind of well-organized job management is what I really needed.
I have been congested about which app to choose, the most famous two applications in this area are OneNote and EverNote. So I have done some research (which is something I’m really good at) and then I have made the decision.
Before downloaded it, I looked up on Youtube regarding the tutorials of using this app since the interface can be a little complex that you may need someone lead you into this. Just saying, what I really liked about Youtube is that you can basic find everything you need on this video website. Everyone from all over the world is uploading videos to express themselves or helping other people, I feel really empowered and resourceful by using this amazing site.The most amazing feature about OneNote is that the categorization is very clear, the top bar is named tags,which can be used for categorization of different jobs. I used it for different months, and at the side bar, which is called the pages, I renamed them into different dates, and the main board contains the jobs that need to be done within this day. Furthermore, what I find fascinating about this app is this, the checkbox, which you can tick it when a job is done, you can also tick at the app terminal since you may not be with the computer all day.
