The Issue:

I have a weird error when trying to Add a solution via PowerShell:

Add-SPSolution : The solution cannot be deployed. The feature ‘45f4accb-b7a4-463a-b671-a0e8a1e1974c‘ uses the directory "XXXX Feature" in the solution. However, it is currently installed in the farm to the directory "XXXX Feature". Uninstall the existing feature before you install a new version of the solution.

Analysis:

This can occur when an installed feature is renamed. Either reverse the rename or uninstall the feature.

Solution:

Find the STSADM from below location for Sharepoint 2013

C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\BIN

Run the Command as below ( change the ID to your solution ID): 

cd "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\BIN"
stsadm -o uninstallfeature -id 45f4accb-b7a4-463a-b671-a0e8a1e1974c -force
