Edit Distance

Given two words word1 and word2, find the minimum number of steps required to convert word1 to word2. (each operation is counted as 1 step.)

You have the following 3 operations permitted on a word:

a) Insert a character
b) Delete a character
c) Replace a character

分析:用动态规划来解,f[i][j]表示word1[0,i-1]与word2[0,j-1]的edit distance。当word1[i] == word2[j]时,f[i][j] = f[i-1][j-1];否则,f[i][j]为f[i-1][j]+1(delete a character)、f[i][j-1]+1(insert a character)、f[i-1][j-1]+1(replace a character)中的最小值。
