What is the difference between "transit","transfer","transmit... and "transport"

transmit is to communicate/send 

Transfer and Transit, are used with things we can touch as the same meaning of moving or relocate.
Transmit, is used with things we can‘t touch like data or signals radio of a broadcast.

transfer, v. tr. : to copy information or images from one place or object to another

transport, v. tr. : to move people or things from one place to another, usually in a vehicle

transmit, v. tr. : if a substance transmits light, sound, or energy, the light, sound, or energy can pass through it
