If ESC (Electronic Stability Control) DTC C0460, C0280 or C0196 etc displays on Driver Information Center (DIC) or you get the ECBM module replaced, you need to perform steering angel sensor calibration.

In this case, you need to
1) Use SPS (Service Programming System) to update the EBCM software. Program the EBCM using the SPS with the latest software available TIS2WEB.

2) Re-calibrate the steering angle sensor SRS in SI by using GM Tech 2 scan tool
Before calibration of the Yaw Rate sensor (Cluster Sensor on Tech 2) ensure there are no EBCM DTCs set.

Calibrating steering angle sensor with GM Tech2 scan tool:
1) Connect the gm tech 2 scanner with vehicle via OBD socket
2) Power up Tech 2. Select Diagnostic from the main menu
3) Select vehicle year
4) Select vehicle model
5) Select Chassis
6) Select ABS / TC / ESP
7) Turn ignition to ON, press Confirm
8) Select Programming,
Vetronix tech 2 scan tool will prompt to calibrate steering angle sensor, click Confirm
9) Move steering wheel 5 degrees left or right, click Confirm.
10) Return the steering wheel back to center. The sensor now calibrates and the Tech 2 should then display "Calibration Successful".
11) Follow prompts to calibrate the Yaw Rate Sensor (Cluster Sensor)
12) Select "YES" when Tech 2 displays "Calibrate Cluster Sensor" message
13) Turn steering wheel at least 10 degrees, press Confirm
14) Tech 2 should then display "Calibration Successful"
15) Exit tech 2 software program and erase stored DTCs.

NOTE:
During programming, the battery voltage must be maintained within the proper range of 12-15 Volts.
